Welcome!

Today is the first day of the 3ds Game reviews blog. I would like to welcome everyone here. This will be a great place for 3ds game owners to come and read great reviews as well as give there own opinions and discuss 3ds titles. I will give my review of the game and you can also post what you would give the game as well. I hope everyone enjoys themselves.

Coming Up: Sims 3 Pets 3ds!!!

3ds Sims 3 Pets Review

Ok, it’s time for yet another installment of the Sims for the 3ds, the Sims 3 Pets. I’ll start off by saying this game is better than the previous Sims 3 3ds. The graphics are better, more places to go, and more things to do. Here is the breakdown:

Controls:
The controls are easier to deal with. You can do everything by touch if you like without use of the stylus. It takes some time to get use to as far as moving around in a circle and zooming in and out, but it does get MUCH closer than the previous version.

Graphics:
The graphics are better than the previous version, although they could be better. They are still a little jagged.

Creating your Sims:
Making a human sim is just like the previous version exempt you can’t take a picture of your face (which doesn’t make any difference to me because that function didn’t do very well to begin with). The only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t add any new facial features so for example we are stuck with the same eyes, lips, noses, and mouths as the previous version. The hairstyles are also the same, which is ok, but they could have added more. As far as the personality traits go they are pretty much the same as the previous version and you still only get six skills which totally SUCKS!!!!!! They keep leaving out the paint skill which is MY personal favorite and you can’t go fishing either.  And the worst thing is the sims talk about painting and the easel in there little bubble, but you can’t buy it anywhere. Geeze what a tease!

Clothing for the sims:
At first glance, it doesn’t look as if there are many things to choose from, but when you start to play the game and go to the clothing store in one of the new lots we have, there are MANY different options to choose from (to buy) for female and male sims. I am VERY happy with this.

Pets:
The graphics for the pets are also ok, but you can’t change things like the ears or snouts like in the PC, Xbox, and PS3 versions. However you can choose between small breeds and big breeds, gender, and make the fur different colors/patterns and add accessories as well. There are also alot of accessories for them , but alot of them you have to buy at the pet store in the lot. You can also give your pets personalities which is fun.

Karma Powers:
The Karma Powers are plenty this time around! They are as follows:
Shock, Nauseate, Singe, Mr. Fix It, Inspire, Energize, Calming Winds, Foul Winds, Shake It Up, and Holy Simoleons!  And trust me, they are GREAT!!!!!!

Household:
At first you can have anywhere from 1 to 3 sims in your household. When you start playing the game you can add another person or sim to your household. This includes townies that you have made, sims that are already in town, sims which  you have gotten from street pass, or animals. So in all you can have up to FOUR sims, which is FANTASTIC!!!!! You can get the fourth sim in your house by marriage, or if you have a nice enough relationship you can ask them to move in without marriage, or you can adopt a pet.

Food:
The food is the same as in the previous version except you can BBQ! I loved that they put the grills back into the game. Now if you have a party, you can either make food on the stove or you can have a BBQ! Yum hot dogs!!!!!!! This was a very nice addition that they brought back from the original Sims Nintendo DS game.

Objects:
As far as objects go they could have added more. They are pretty much the same as in the previous 3ds version except for the addition of the grills.  There are more floor and wallpaper choices. Doors and windows are the same. There is no dishwasher or laptop. The objects are pretty much the same as in the Sims 3 for the 3ds. There are of course pet objects added.  You can buy additional objects at the Comfort Abel Décor shop at the Boardwalk. You can also buy pet objects from the pet store at the Graystone Park Lot.

Lots:
There are 7 Lots in all. Three are neighbor lots and 4 are community lots.  The neighbor lots each have one house for you to visit. The next 4 lots areas follows:
Portable Square-Arcade, Town Hall, Museum and Library, and Book Nook (where you buy  books)
Graystone Park-Paws on Main and St. Bernard’s
Bayfront Road-Gym, Riptide Bistro, Rhea’s Custom Clothing, Sea Side Spa, and the Bayfront Theatre
The Boardwalk-The Rusty Anchor, Village Market, Comfort-Able Décor, The Salty Dog (Restaurant)

In conclusion:
I like this game FAR better than the previous sims 3 3ds title. This is what should have been put out the first time. If they come out with another Sims game for the 3ds, I would sacrifice the pets and their objects for more human objects.  This game goes to show that the Sims 3 3ds was obviously rushed and could have included more objects because there were no pets to take up space on the cartridge.

Note: I understand that the 3ds version of the sims will NEVER have as much objects as the PC version, but the pets probably took up extra space on the game cart that could have been used for extra goodies in the game.  If this game could support DLC it would be even more excellent.

Pros:
Better graphics
More to do.
More people can live in one house.
More lots.
More Clothing
Better Karma Powers
Pets Added
Woo Hoo is a lot easier to do in this version.

Cons:
Needs more objects.
More skills need to be included.
More Create-a-sims features
What do you guys think? If you have any questions about the game please ask!
